Retailers looking for an unusual gift item to spice up their shelves this summer might just want to check out Globee — a company that makes illustrated globes depicting popular cities around the world.
Globees show all the major streets, landmarks and historic buildings of a city and are accompanied with a fact-packed 16 page booklet about the places featured.
The company was established by David Sinclair, a former chartered accountant who told GiftwarePro this week that he woke up one night with the idea and decided to pursue it.

High street heavyweights such as John Lewis, Waterstones and WH Smith, as well as a number of tourist shops, have already begun stocking selected products from the range, and Sinclair is looking to add more gift-focused partners moving forward.
“I am delighted that there has been such great interest from a number of major retailers who are now selling the Globees,” said Sinclair. “I believe they are proving so popular because they have such a wide appeal for children and adults alike. Globees are both educational and fun and what better way of keeping your memories alive.”
The Globees come in three different sizes, starting with a 4-inch version costing £15. The largest 9-inch product retails for £30.
Sinclair has just launched talking versions of the Globees and money boxes and puzzles are also available. He is also planning Globee bears, Christmas baubles, night lights and umbrellas.
Cities featured on Globees include London, Cambridge, Oxford, Paris, New York, Sydney, Edinburgh, San Francisco, St Petersburg and Rome.
