Supermarket chain Sainsbury’s is betting big on ethical gift products proving popular this Christmas after launching a new Fairtrade-certified bathroom gift set.
The company believes the £5 ‘Refresh’ body collection and ‘Rejuvenate’ handwash gift set are strong additions to its beauty range, particularly as they will form part of its ‘3 for 2’ Christmas gift deal.
The sets, which are part of its Fair Naturally range, feature Fairtrade-certified ingredients such as mango, melon and moisturising cotton extract from producers and communities in developing countries, according to the retailer.
It also says the ethically sourced ingredients are presented in fully recyclable packaging.
Sainsbury's claims to have been stocking Fairtrade-certified products since Fairtrade labelling was launched 16 years ago to denote products sourced ethically from producers in developing countries.
